India To Host Global AI Summit In February 2026
As part of this vision, India will host the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 from 16–20 February in New Delhi. It will mark the first time the global AI summit series is held in the Global South, reflecting India’s growing influence in international AI discussions. The event follows global engagements such as the UK AI Safety Summit, the AI Seoul Summit, the Paris AI Action Summit—which India co-chaired—and the Global AI Summit on Africa, underscoring India’s role in shaping global cooperation on responsible AI.
The Summit’s agenda is structured around seven thematic ‘Chakras’: Human Capital, Inclusion, Safe and Trusted AI, Resilience, Innovation and Efficiency, Democratising AI Resources and AI for Economic Development and Social Good. These themes cover issues such as safety, data governance, transparency, human-centric development and accountability, guiding the Summit’s deliberations.
The objective is to develop actionable recommendations for long-term AI governance rather than immediate binding regulations.
