Indian Bank to lend Rs 200 billion to SHGs this fiscal

Indian Bank will disburse over Rs 200 billion to Self Help Groups (SHGs) across India in FY25, with a focus on empowering women-led enterprises and promoting grassroots entrepreneurship.

At a Mega SHG Credit Outreach Programme held in Bhubaneswar, the bank sanctioned loans worth Rs 5 billion to 9,961 SHGs in Odisha alone. The event highlighted successful ventures in handicrafts, agri-processing, and textiles and featured stories of rural women entrepreneurs transforming local economies.
