IndusInd Bank Launches Dedicated Banking Vertical for GCCs
India had 2,117 GCCs as of the latest assessment, with the ecosystem growing 32 per cent since FY 2021. The expansion underlines the country’s increasing importance as a global capability hub and reflects the widening role of these centres in supporting multinational organisations.
The bank said its dedicated GCC relationship model would address the business, workforce and cross-border banking needs of these centres in a more coordinated manner. By combining corporate and employee banking services, the vertical is intended to help GCCs manage their financial requirements more seamlessly through a single relationship framework.
India’s GCC ecosystem has moved beyond traditional shared-services operations. Centres are increasingly involved in technology, engineering, analytics, finance, research and other strategic functions for global organisations, creating more varied banking requirements as their scale and responsibilities expand.
Niraj Shah, Country Head for Corporate Banking at IndusInd Bank, said the sector’s growing scale and strategic importance were making its banking requirements more nuanced. He said the bank’s integrated approach was intended to support the evolving needs of GCCs as they expand their operations and functions in India.
The launch comes as companies operating GCCs seek banking arrangements that cover both organisational requirements and employee services. IndusInd Bank said the new vertical would bring these capabilities together through a dedicated relationship model. Shares of IndusInd Bank were trading at Rs. 905 on the BSE, down 0.82 per cent from the previous close.
