The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organised an industry interaction on the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability through upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme for the Rajasthan cluster on June three, 2026, at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The session comprised presentations and consultations aimed at refining the scheme for implementation in the Bhiwadi industrial hub. The event was positioned as a step to align national skilling priorities with local industrial requirements.

The programme featured a detailed presentation on PM-SETU followed by industry deliberations to identify actionable pathways for the Bhiwadi cluster. The cluster was described as among North India’s fastest growing manufacturing regions with strong presence in automotive, engineering, electronics, logistics and emerging green industries. Participants examined how sectoral demand could shape curriculum and training delivery.

Key industry stakeholders, policymakers and leaders from the skilling ecosystem attended to strengthen industry participation in training initiatives and to align supply with workforce requirements. The consultations sought pathways to create sustainable employment opportunities for local youth and to improve placement outcomes through demand driven interventions. The approach emphasised partnerships between industry and training institutions to ensure relevance.

The consultation was chaired by the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change who underlined the importance of integrating skill development with sustainable industrial growth and the opportunities emerging across sectors. The Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education highlighted that PM-SETU aims to reduce recruitment and training costs for industry while improving employment outcomes for youth and indicated that industries may collaborate with universities as knowledge partners. He also stressed the need to transform Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into centres of experiential learning equipped with modern infrastructure including sports facilities to function as holistic finishing schools, ensuring both quality education and strong placement outcomes.
