Jaipur Set For Rajasthan Mandapam And Allied Infrastructure

Rajasthan unveiled the Rajasthan Mandapam project at an event in Jaipur where digital visualisations were presented to dignitaries and stakeholders. The development is planned near Jaipur International Airport on more than 90 acres with a total built up area of more than nine point four five three mn sq.ft. The master plan aims to create a mixed use ecosystem combining business, tourism, culture, leisure and social interaction.

The scheme incorporates an iconic convention centre with a built up area of more than zero point nine mn sq.ft, expansive expo halls of around zero point seven mn sq.ft and Global Capability Centres and IT/ITES office spaces totalling around one point eight mn sq.ft. Hospitality, retail and housing components amount to more than one point zero seven six mn sq.ft while a Natural History Museum is planned with about zero point one seven seven mn sq.ft. A fintech plaza of close to 69 thousand sq.ft and parking provision of around three point two five mn sq.ft are also included.

The project is being developed by the state industrial development body with NBCC appointed as the executing agency under a self financing model designed to ensure financial sustainability and operational transparency. The total project value has been assessed at Rs 58 bn reflecting the expanded scale and comprehensive scope of the development. NBCC plans to float tenders in April, signalling the transition from planning to execution and committing to timely delivery standards.

The Rajasthan Mandapam convention centre will be a multi scale facility capable of hosting international conventions, exhibitions, cultural performances and high level events and will include multiple auditoria including a grand Padam Mandap with a seating capacity of approximately 6,500. The revitalisation of the Dravyawati riverfront is intended to integrate ecological restoration with cultural and recreational activities and emphasise sustainability and urban resilience. Observers at the unveiling responded positively to the vision and scale of the initiative and noted its potential to redefine Jaipur's urban landscape and attract investment.
