JEMB Meeting Focuses On Joint EW And Spectrum Readiness

The annual meeting of the Joint Electro Magnetic Board (JEMB), a sub-committee of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC), was held in New Delhi on 20 November 2025. Chaired by the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations), Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha, the meeting aimed to strengthen joint operational synergy across the three Services.

The agenda covered key areas including Electronic Warfare, EMI/EMC, counter-UAS operations, emerging technologies and spectrum management, all of which are central to enhancing jointness and integration in modern warfare.

The event also featured a demonstration of the Electromagnetic Battlespace Management System, designed to ensure efficient exploitation of spectrum in the Tactical Battlefield Area. During the meeting, Technical News Letter 2025 was released, outlining advanced and emerging technologies with the potential to transform future combat operations.

In his address, Air Marshal Sinha acknowledged the Services’ coordinated efforts during Operation Sindoor and the subsequent joint training exercises undertaken to incorporate lessons learnt. He also praised the progress made in niche technology domains through the combined efforts of Defence PSUs, industry partners and academia, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbharta.
