KFintech Enables NPS Swasthya Payments Through Apollo 24/7
Subscribers can link their NPS Swasthya account to the Apollo 24/7 payment app and use the designated partner network to pay eligible medical expenses with the speed and convenience of a UPI payment. The structure permits rule-based redemption of units to settle payments directly with healthcare providers, thereby integrating short-term liquidity for medical needs within a long-term retirement framework. The company said the mechanism preserves financial discipline for retirement while addressing immediate healthcare requirements.
In its role as the CRA, KFintech will carry out account validation, transaction processing and settlement within the NPS system, and will validate requests, redeem the required units as per applicable rules and ensure direct settlement to the healthcare provider. The digital architecture is designed to provide secure validation, compliant unit redemption and auditable transaction flows to support governance, transparency and rule-based processing rather than discretionary access to funds. This is aimed at delivering a seamless and compliant experience for subscribers while safeguarding the continuity and integrity of their retirement savings.
The initiative underscores the role of technology-led recordkeeping infrastructure in supporting regulatory innovation within the NPS ecosystem and in improving accessibility for subscribers under the Sandbox framework. KFintech is one of the three operating central recordkeeping agencies for the National Pension System and is listed on the National Stock Exchange and BSE. Media contacts for the initiative are available from the company.
