Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed Komuravelli Punyakshetram railway station in Siddipet district, presenting it as a fulfilment of a long standing demand of hundreds of thousands of devotees who visit the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple. The station was built at a cost of Rs 60 million and was completed with modern amenities. It lies on the Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway line, with the 76 km Manoharabad-Siddipet section already finished.

DEMU trains running between Secunderabad and Siddipet will now halt at Komuravelli, providing affordable travel for devotees, students, employees and traders. The one way fare from Secunderabad to Komuravelli is Rs 25, which is intended to enhance access to the temple and reduce travel time for regular commuters. The facility is expected to support pilgrimage related activity and stimulate local commerce.

Highlighting wider railway development in Telangana under central oversight, the minister outlined completion of 340 km of new railway lines, 576 km of doubling, tripling and quadrupling works, and 2,034 km of track electrification. He noted that railway projects worth Rs 479.84 billion are under execution in the state and that modernisation of 40 railway stations is underway at a cost of over Rs 20 billion. The Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit has been established at a cost of Rs 5.21 billion. He added that five Vande Bharat Express trains and six Amrit Bharat trains operate from Hyderabad and that more than 100 new train services have been sanctioned since 2014.

Following the inauguration, the minister purchased the first ticket and travelled as the inaugural passenger to Gajwel, marking what was described as a historic moment for the region. The programme was attended by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP MPs K. Laxman and M. Raghunandan Rao, the South Central Railway general manager and other public representatives. The new station is expected to provide a sustained boost to pilgrimage tourism and local business.
