Lok Sabha Speaker To Inaugurate Zone VII CPA Conference In Goa
Delegates from other state legislatures, including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Telangana, will attend alongside Members of Parliament and a Union Minister from Goa. The two-day conference will focus on the role of young legislators in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047 and on regional priorities in trade, tourism, urbanisation, environment and coastal connectivity. Speakers and panelists will exchange best practices and discuss policy approaches relevant to the three member states.
The conference follows the 2024 restructuring of the CPA India Region into nine zones and marks the first Zone seven meeting under the new arrangement. The current Chairperson of the zone is the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, who will preside over deliberations on cooperation and coordination among the legislatures. Sessions will examine legislative measures that can support sustainable tourism, resilient urban growth and strengthened coastal linkages.
The valedictory session on ten April 2026 will be attended by the Governor of Goa and the Lok Sabha Speaker, who will review outcomes and recommendations arising from the discussions. Organisers expect the conference to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, promote the exchange of best practices and clarify priorities for regional development over the coming years.
