Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts from Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel, marking another milestone in India’s metals and heavy engineering sector.

The order from Hindalco involves setting up a greenfield aluminium smelter at Sambalpur, Odisha. The scope includes civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works, along with installation of critical smelting equipment. The project is expected to strengthen Hindalco’s aluminium production capacity and support its downstream value-added operations.

L&T has also bagged an order from Tata Steel to construct a new coke oven battery at its Jamshedpur steel plant. The project, part of Tata Steel’s ongoing modernisation programme, aims to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the steelmaking process.

Both contracts were awarded to L&T’s Minerals & Metals business, reflecting its strong execution record and expertise in large-scale industrial projects. The company continues to expand its presence in the metals and mining sector through technologically advanced and sustainable solutions.
