L&T Transportation Infrastructure Secures Twin Dubai Contracts

The Transportation Infrastructure business vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured two contracts from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority for the development of the Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor. The contracts cover road, bridge, tunnel, interchange and associated infrastructure works, with completion scheduled by the end of 2028.

One contract involves developing a new road connecting Al Khail Road with the extension of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The scope includes bridges, tunnels and related road works intended to improve connectivity between Al Khail Road, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street and Al Meydan Street, while providing better access to nearby development areas.

The second contract covers sections of Al Meydan Street, including a new interchange and associated at-grade roads serving development projects in the area. It also includes a cycling track that will connect with Dubai’s existing cycling network and support an integrated route between Al Qudra and Jumeirah.

Once completed, the overall Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor will extend approximately 12 km and link several of Dubai’s key road corridors. These include Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Emirates Road.

The corridor is planned to accommodate around 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions and more than 130,000 trips per day. The infrastructure is also expected to reduce travel time between Umm Al Sheif Street and Emirates Road from 33 minutes to 15 minutes, strengthening connections across the surrounding development areas. The contracts add to L&T’s international transportation infrastructure portfolio and its work across major urban mobility projects.
