The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is rolling out infrastructure projects worth over Rs four Bn to modernise urban services and tackle pollution. The proposed initiatives will be implemented under the Infrastructure Fund, Solid Waste Management Scheme, and Air Quality Improvement Scheme.

The state has sanctioned Rs 1.6 Bn for new road construction and repairs, Rs 1.73 Bn for waste management, and Rs 740 Mn to improve air quality. Key allocations include Rs one Bn for waste sorting stations, Rs 600 Mn for drain upgrades, and Rs 394 Mn for improved street lighting, with installations in 88 villages under Marg Prakash Yojana. Water-related works involve Rs 192 Mn for new tube wells, Rs 266 Mn for reboring, and Rs 60 Mn for a new municipal workshop.

LMC will also invest in green spaces with Rs 671 Mn for a Nagar Van, Rs 0.162 Bn for Miyawaki forests, and Rs 140 Mn for pollution control. Anti-smog guns and smog towers are planned to enhance air quality.

LMC officials stated the initiative reflects a sustainable, eco-friendly vision for the capital’s development.
