Mahindra & Mahindra will supply 35,000 Scorpio Pik Ups to Indonesia in 2026 under the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih project, part of Indonesia's national food security mission. The vehicles will support first-mile aggregation and improve movement of fresh produce from farms to co-operatives and onward to markets. The order represents a major export win and is scheduled for delivery during 2026.

The partnership will see Mahindra working with Agrinas Pangan Nusantara to equip co-operatives with logistics infrastructure and to bridge gaps between farmers and consumers. The Scorpio Pik Up will be supplied from Mahindra's Nashik plant and is suited to rural conditions due to durability, high payload and low operating costs. The vehicles are designed to cope with rough rural roads and farm tracks across Indonesia.

Mahindra's management said the collaboration aligns with the company's strategic priorities and its Rise philosophy and that the deal will strengthen the company's global footprint. Executives described the order as an opportunity to enable prosperity at village level and to support national priorities in partner countries. The firm added that the project advances efforts to promote village-level commerce and economic self-reliance among farming communities.

The vehicles are expected to support efficient aggregation at the co-operative level, reduce spoilage by enabling quicker transport of perishable goods and lower logistics costs for smallholders. Deployment across co-operative networks could facilitate improved access to markets and help stabilise supply chains for fresh produce. The programme also aims to enhance rural logistics capacity and to strengthen the role of co-operatives in local value chains.

Investors and industry observers are likely to monitor the export deal for its potential to boost overseas revenue and affect production volumes at manufacturing sites. Analysts will assess operational execution, delivery timelines and knock-on effects for aftermarket services and parts supply.
