MegaCharge, the electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions arm of Mega Nirman & Industries Ltd., has entered a strategic partnership with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) to deploy and maintain 660 charging points across India’s planned 5,500 km e-highway network. The collaboration is intended to strengthen long-distance electric mobility by creating a fast-charging backbone along key intercity corridors. The agreement places MegaCharge in a leading role for the installation and operational management of advanced charging stations on critical highway routes.

The company will deploy both AC and DC fast chargers and will be responsible for maintenance and operational readiness of the sites. Its technology stack includes dynamic load balancing and a unified digital platform for discovery, access and management of charging services, which is expected to improve operational efficiency and user experience. The partnership aims to reduce range anxiety and enable reliable intercity travel for electric vehicle users.

The National Highways for Electric Vehicles initiative plans to develop 26 national highways and expressways across 14 states, transforming nearly 5,500 km into green e-highways by 2030. The programme is being implemented under the Annuity Hybrid E-Mobility model and brings together government entities, public-sector undertakings and private partners to create a commercially viable e-mobility ecosystem. It also envisages the development of green fuel stations that integrate EV charging with hydrogen and other clean energy solutions.

MegaCharge stated that the partnership aligns with its target to build 5,000 scalable and accessible charging points across India by 2030 and reinforces its nationwide expansion plans. The company has to date deployed over 20 charging points at commercial and residential locations in Delhi and has recently expanded to Kanpur with a deployment at Dilbagh Rose Garden Society. Upcoming installations are planned at a variety of sites including legal complexes, additional residential welfare associations and hospitality venues, with further expansion envisaged in Lucknow and Dehradun.
