MeitY Launches Special Campaign 5.0 to Boost Office Efficiency

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the preparatory phase of Special Campaign 5.0, running from 16 to 30 September 2025. The initiative aims to institutionalise Swachhata (cleanliness), streamline processes, and reduce pendency in government offices.

Special Campaign 2025 seeks to implement Swachhata across all offices of every Ministry and Department, enhancing operational efficiency, workplace environment, and citizen interactions.

To ensure readiness for the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM), MeitY conducted regular review meetings at the level of Joint Secretary and senior officials, ensuring all activities aligned with the campaign’s objectives.
During the preparatory phase, several key measures were undertaken:

  • Comprehensive inspections of record rooms to organise files, dispose of redundant documents, and strengthen digital record management.
  • Identification of nodal officers at division level for weeding physical files, closing e-files, and tracking pending references, including those from MPs, PMO, Parliamentary Assurances, and public grievances.
  • Tasks assigned to the Building & Maintenance section to dispose of e-waste and scrap materials, ensuring optimal use of infrastructure.
  • Emphasis on cleanliness, space management, and overall workplace enhancement in field offices.

With clear objectives and a motivated team, MeitY is committed to achieving excellence in cleanliness, efficiency, and responsiveness, supporting the Government’s vision of a Swachh Bharat.
