MeitY Launches STQC Laboratory Automation Portal SATYA
The Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification Directorate is responsible for ensuring quality, security and reliability of electronic and information technology products and services. The SATYA Portal consolidates laboratory services onto a single, integrated and user-friendly digital platform to benefit citizens, industry, startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as government departments. It is designed to provide predictable timelines and transparent certification workflows.
For industry and citizens the portal is expected to deliver faster service and greater confidence in certification while reducing procedural burden for startups and MSMEs seeking market access for compliant and secure products. The initiative aligns with the national vision of Digital India and the policies of minimum government, maximum governance and ease of doing business. Digitisation of certification aims to keep quality assurance robust while increasing accessibility.
The minister emphasised that governance in the digital era requires ease, transparency and accountability and that SATYA advances citizen-centric digital governance and services. The secretary noted the portal modernises STQC service delivery through end-to-end digital processes and strengthens transparency, efficiency and trust. The launch was framed as contributing to a trusted digital ecosystem and supporting India's ambitions as a global technology and manufacturing hub while underscoring cybersecurity and data protection.
The minister congratulated the STQC team, officials of MeitY and C-DAC as the technical development partner for their work in conceptualising and implementing the portal and urged stakeholders to use SATYA and provide feedback for continuous improvement. With the portal operational the government regards this as an important step towards strengthening quality, transparency and digital trust in public service delivery.
