MoPR Pavilion Inaugurated at India AI Impact Summit 2026

Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Union Minister for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), inaugurated the MoPR pavilion at the India Artificial Intelligence (AI) Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, with senior state and central officials in attendance. The inauguration included the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and other Ministers and Members of Parliament, and senior officers of the Ministry were present to oversee demonstrations. The pavilion framed the Ministry’s drive to integrate technology into local governance.

Live demonstrations featured SabhaSaar, PRAMAN and eGramSaathi as the principal platforms that aim to strengthen transparency, accuracy and efficiency in Gram Sabha processes. SabhaSaar enables AI based recording, transcription and automated preparation of structured minutes in local languages while PRAMAN applies image analytics for validation and quality checks of asset photographs under various schemes. eGramSaathi delivers real time, AI driven information support to Panchayat functionaries and citizens to aid decision making.

A staged Nukkad Natak titled Sarpanch ki Chaupal, AI ka Kamaal illustrated how Artificial Intelligence can support Gram Sabha functioning through structured documentation and transparent processes. Under the Summit theme Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya, the Ministry outlined interventions to institutionalise reliable digital records of Gram Sabha proceedings, ensure authenticity in asset monitoring and enable real time governance support. Officials indicated that these measures align with the Prime Minister’s vision of using digital innovation to deepen participatory democracy.

Visitors were invited to experience the Ministry of Panchayati Raj pavilion at Bharat Mandapam until 20 February 2026, where an interactive simulation called Be the Sarpanch demonstrated AI enabled decision documentation through the traditional Nukkad Natak format. The pavilion provided first hand guided demonstrations of the platforms in action and opportunities for participants to engage with the technology. Officials said the exhibition seeks to familiarise Panchayat functionaries and citizens with practical tools for last mile governance.
