MRPL Operating At 105 To 108 Per Cent Of Refining Capacity

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) reported that it was operating at between 105 and 108 per cent of its oil-refining capacity, an official said. The company disclosed the operating range as part of routine commentary on plant performance and indicated that throughput had remained elevated over the reporting period. The official described operations as stable while plants continued to receive scheduled crude feed.

The level of utilisation reflects throughput above nameplate capacity and demonstrates sustained conversion of crude into finished and intermediate products. MRPL is a key regional refiner and the reported range signals concentrated scheduling and sustained processing across major refining units. Operational teams focused on process optimisation to keep yields steady and manage turnaround cycles efficiently.

Higher utilisation affected logistics and dispatch planning as the refinery coordinated shipments and inland movements to maintain supply schedules. The refinery’s output mix supplies transport fuels and petrochemical feedstocks to domestic industrial and retail markets, supporting ongoing demand requirements. Inventory planning and distribution arrangements were adjusted to align dispatches with elevated production levels while safety and compliance measures remained in force.

The company indicated that standard maintenance and safety protocols continued to be prioritised alongside throughput optimisation, and that operational disclosures would reflect the reported performance. Market observers typically track refinery utilisation as an indicator of supply conditions and refining margins, and MRPL’s disclosed range points to robust activity at the plant. The official said further details would be shared through formal company communications as appropriate.
