MSME TEAM Drive to Aid 0.5 Million Small Businesses

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is implementing the ‘MSE TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing)’ initiative, a sub-scheme under the World Bank-supported Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme. The scheme aims to equip Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) with digital tools and guidance to effectively use e-commerce platforms by integrating them with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Under the initiative, MSEs will receive support for onboarding, digital cataloguing, account management, transport and logistics, and packaging, alongside training and capacity-building programmes. The goal is to help MSMEs expand their customer base and boost income.

The ministry operates several complementary platforms:
  • eKhadi India Portal – An exclusive e-commerce site for Khadi and Village Industries products, including apparel, groceries, cosmetics, home décor, health and wellness items, and gifts. It enables artisans, weavers, and small enterprises to sell directly, offering authentic Khadi Trademark products and integration with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
  • MSME Global Mart – A B2B online marketplace operated by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), connecting MSMEs with domestic and global buyers. It provides marketing support, trade leads, tender information, and visibility enhancement.
  • Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme – Designed to improve market access for MSMEs by supporting participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer–seller meets. It also helps micro enterprises join MSME Global Mart through financial aid for membership and cataloguing costs.
The Government e-Marketplace serves as a centralised platform for public procurement, enabling transparent and efficient purchasing with features such as e-bidding and reverse auctions.
The MSME TEAM initiative targets 500,000 MSEs, half of them women-owned, with outreach efforts focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
