The Telangana government has initiated the construction of a new hi-tech bus terminal in Mulugu district with an investment of Rs 48 million. The foundation was laid by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Tribal Welfare Minister Seethakka, with the project expected to be completed in six months.

The terminal will feature modern amenities such as green landscaping, drinking water facilities, and commercial space—four shops on the first floor and seven on the ground floor—spanning around 4,000 square feet.

In addition to this, a smaller bus station in Mangapet has been approved with a budget of Rs 5 million. Plans are also in motion for a new facility near Gattamma Temple, in proximity to the upcoming Tribal University, Medical College, and the district collectorate, estimated at Rs 4–5 million.

The state also plans a major bus depot in Eturnagaram, with an allocation of Rs 70 million for development across five acres of land.

Minister Prabhakar also highlighted Telangana’s unique initiative of acquiring 600 buses through women’s groups, enabling free bus travel for women and saving commuters nearly Rs 6 billion to date. He commended Minister Seethakka’s efforts in driving infrastructure growth across Mulugu district.
