Nagaland marked Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Day by launching Naturally Nagaland and signing an MoU with T-Works to bolster the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Advisor Hekani Jakhalu launched the initiative at the Industries & Commerce directorate in Kohima and the MoU was signed by the director of Industries and Commerce and the chief executive officer of T-Works. The agreement is intended to strengthen innovation, product development and prototyping support across the state.

Jakhalu said 52,801 enterprises were registered on Udyam as of June 25, 2026, about 4,000 more than three months earlier and she urged registration as an identity card for enterprises. The state has 82,913 MSMEs, including 52,599 micro, 189 small and 13 medium units, with 30,112 IMEs (UAP). She said the MoU will provide expertise and technical support to help entrepreneurs scale.

Deputy Secretary Chonpenthung Ezung described Naturally Nagaland as the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme's flagship market development platform, conceived to improve branding, visibility and market access. The initiative will mentor 750 MSMEs, onboard e-commerce platforms, establish a Naturally Nagaland Centre, attend national exhibitions and set up product development centres. Ezung noted export readiness requires compliance, certification, quality and environmental responsibility including carbon footprint reduction and proper export documentation.

Kvulo Lorin said over 49,000 MSMEs benefited, more than 35,000 entrepreneurs were trained and 30,000 women were supported, while the programme ran 882 workshops across 16 districts, 55 subdivisions and 63 RD blocks. The joint director said the MSME sector contributes nearly 30 per cent to India's GDP, 46 per cent of exports and is the second largest employer after agriculture. Officials urged documentation of authentic textile designs, pursuit of geographical indication protection and said entrepreneurs' success under RAMP indicates the sector can continue to strengthen and scale.
