Naidu Launches Rs. 113.6 bn Projects Across Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on 22 September laid the foundation for development projects valued at Rs. 113.6 bn across the state. The virtual event was held from Kuppam in Chittoor district, where Naidu represents the constituency.

The projects cover 123 municipalities across 26 districts and will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) for the first time in the state. Naidu laid the foundation for works valued at Rs. 74.69 bn across Andhra Pradesh, while projects worth Rs. 38.9 bn were announced for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation area.

The works include road construction valued at Rs. 46.56 bn. Other components comprise central medians costing Rs. 880 mn, street lighting projects worth Rs. 2.47 bn and parks valued at Rs. 5.09 bn.

The chief minister also inaugurated halts for two trains in Kuppam on 21 September. The services were identified as the Dadar-Puducherry and Vasco Da Gama-Velankini trains, adding to the existing rail connectivity in the constituency.

Naidu said Kuppam currently had halts for 59 trains and that the state was pursuing additional stops. He also outlined plans to develop Kuppam as an economic and tourist hub and improve its connectivity with more destinations. The projects and transport initiatives form part of the state government’s development programme for municipalities and the constituency.
