NALCO Posts Historic FY26 Production And Sales Records

NALCO delivered a historic FY 2025–26 performance, breaking records in production and sales. National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and a leading manufacturer and exporter of alumina and aluminium. The company achieved highest-ever bauxite excavation of seven point seven zero one million tonnes (mn t) and bauxite transportation of seven point seven zero seven mn t. Alumina hydrate production reached two point three mn t and calcined alumina production stood at two point two seven five mn t.

Cast metal production was recorded at zero point four seven two mn t while net power generation reached 6,953 million units (MU) and coal production amounted to four mn t. On the sales front total alumina sales rose to one point four four six mn t with domestic alumina sales at zero point one three eight mn t. Aluminium metal sales totalled zero point four seven four mn t including domestic metal sales of zero point four six one mn t. These outcomes reinforced the company as an integrated player in the sector.

Year-on-year improvements included six point one three per cent growth in bauxite transportation, an 11.16 per cent increase in calcined alumina production and a two point six one per cent rise in aluminium cast metal production. Sales performance showed total alumina sales growth of 30.74 per cent and total aluminium sales growth of 2.82 per cent compared to the previous year. The company attributed the results to operational focus and collective efforts across its workforce. Leadership emphasised a roadmap centred on plant efficiency, people efficiency and process efficiency alongside digital transformation and green initiatives.

Management acknowledged support from the Ministry of Mines and the Government of Odisha in enabling operational expansion and sustained business excellence. With these record-breaking results NALCO has reinforced its position in the global aluminium industry and set a benchmark for public sector enterprises. The firm signalled continued focus on improving capabilities to meet future demand while advancing sustainability.
