Navitas, Cyient Form Partnership to Boost GaN Adoption in India

Navitas Semiconductor Corporation and Cyient Semiconductors have announced a long-term strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of gallium nitride (GaN) technology in India and building a complete, end-to-end GaN ecosystem. The collaboration will focus on co-developing GaN devices, digital and mixed-signal ICs, system modules and design-enablement platforms across high-voltage, high-power segments including AI data centres, electric mobility, performance computing, grid infrastructure and industrial electrification.

Aligned with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ vision, the partnership seeks to establish a robust domestic supply chain and manufacturing base for GaN products, enabling faster development cycles and reducing the technological barriers faced by Indian OEMs. The initiative will draw on Navitas’ GaNFast and GeneSiC power technologies and Cyient’s design, manufacturing and localisation capabilities to deliver solutions tailored to India’s market needs.

The companies stated that this collaboration will provide Indian design houses and OEMs with direct access to GaN technologies, engineering expertise and reliable procurement channels, strengthening the nation’s semiconductor innovation and scalability across emerging high-power applications.
