NBCC Secures Rs 100 Crore Contract from Oil India

NBCC (India) Limited, a state-owned enterprise, has secured a significant Rs 1 billion contract from Oil India to construct a centralised core repository with advanced laboratory facilities in Guwahati, Assam. This strategic project marks a major collaboration aimed at bolstering the region's infrastructural and research capabilities.

In a statement released, NBCC announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil India for the project. The MoU was inked by Saloma Yomdo, Executive Director (Exploration & Development) of Oil India, and Pradeep Sharma, Executive Director (Engineering) of NBCC, in the presence of Ranjit Rath, CMD of Oil India, and K P Mahadevaswamy, CMD of NBCC, along with other senior officials from both organizations.

"This work is valued at Rs 1 billion approximately," NBCC stated, highlighting the project's importance in enhancing laboratory facilities in the region.

In addition to this pivotal project, NBCC and Oil India are in advanced discussions to undertake several other significant works in Assam, including the execution of a hospital, group housing, guest house, and installation of solar rooftop panels. The anticipated value of these additional projects is approximately Rs 9 billion .

NBCC has been actively expanding its project portfolio, with recent achievements including a Rs 7 billion work order from Kochi Metro Rail Ltd for the development of 17.4 acres in Kakkanad and Ernakulam, Kerala. The company is also set to construct a boy's hostel for Hindu College, University of Delhi, valued at approximately Rs 700 million, and an office-cum-training institute for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in Khaitabad, Hyderabad, with an estimated value of Rs 90 million.

This latest contract with Oil India underscores NBCC's growing prominence in executing large-scale infrastructure projects across the country, cementing its role as a key player in India's development sector.
