NBCC Secures Rs 7,752.7 Million DDA Redevelopment Orders
The larger assignment pertains to comprehensive redevelopment at Old Rajinder Nagar valued at Rs 4,377.9 mn, while the second order for Safdarjung Development Area stands at Rs 3,374.8 mn. The filings indicate both contracts were granted in the ordinary course of business and fall under project management consultancy services. The company has no related party transactions in relation to these awards.
Under the Old Rajinder Nagar scheme NBCC will redevelop 117 dwelling units with an envisaged built-up area of around 99,635 square metres, excluding external development, and final area will be subject to detailed survey and approval. At Safdarjung Development Area the project will replace 152 dwelling units with a proposed built-up area of about 65,925 square metres, also pending final approval after submission of a detailed project report. Both projects therefore proceed to detailed design and regulatory clearance before execution.
The redevelopment work will follow a self-sustainable model agreed under a memorandum of understanding between NBCC and DDA whereby a portion of developed built-up area will be sold to generate funds for project execution and the remainder will be handed back for staff use. The contracts are domestic in nature and are expected to deepen NBCC’s urban redevelopment portfolio in the capital. The company has not specified a timeline for execution in its stock exchange filing.
