New Portal for Free Sand Booking Launched

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched a new web portal for booking free sand, emphasizing real-time data updates for user convenience. He directed officials to remove time restrictions and ensure 24/7 accessibility.

The portal will feature details on supply points, transportation charges, and daily sand availability by district. Naidu also urged the facilitation of sand collection from small streams for personal use without fees, while stressing the need for strong regulations to prevent illegal sand mining and transportation.

To enhance accountability, a grievance redressal mechanism will be implemented for immediate resolution of issues. Excise and Mines Minister Kollu Ravindra highlighted that the portal aims to control inflated prices imposed by truck owners and middlemen. A toll-free number (1800-599-4599) and email (dmgapsandcomplaints@yahoo.com) will be available for complaints.

Ravindra also noted that third-party inspections will be prioritized to ensure transparency in sand supply, reinforcing constant surveillance throughout the process. District-level committees led by collectors will manage local operations effectively.
