NITI Aayog Launches CPO Portal For Real-Time Governance
The portal was formally launched by Nidhi Chhibber, Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog, in a virtual event attended by officers from central and state governments, Central Prabhari Officers, planning secretaries and district magistrates. NITI Aayog described the portal as a step towards a high-trust, transparent and responsive governance ecosystem. The agency also highlighted the role of data-driven governance and the importance of Central Prabhari Officers in providing field-level inputs.
Central Prabhari Officers will submit observations and recommendations from the field in real time via mobile, after which the data goes live for districts to view and act upon. State planning secretaries will gain a bird's-eye view to coordinate across departments and record feedback, while officers at NITI Aayog and line ministries will be able to monitor inputs centrally. The unified interface is designed to bridge the gap between field observation and administrative response by enabling instant visibility, accountability and faster administrative action. The portal is expected to significantly improve implementation efficiency and responsiveness in Aspirational Districts and Blocks.
A short film illustrating the portal's features was screened during the event, and dedicated training sessions will be conducted to ensure effective utilisation by stakeholders. NITI Aayog said the platform will streamline communication and support faster administrative response across levels of governance. The launch marks another step in leveraging technology to drive inclusive development and align governance with citizen needs.
