Noida Plans New Auto Showroom Hub Along Expressway
The plan, earlier presented at the Authority’s 219th board meeting, has now been cleared for submission to the state government for final approval. Once sanctioned, the project will pave the way for a one-stop destination for automobile buyers and dealers, officials added.
“The automobile hub proposed in Sector 105 will offer convenience to both customers and businesses seeking improved amenities for setting up car showrooms. Consumers will find all major brands under one roof with ample parking and ease of access,” said Lokesh M, Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority.
The Authority’s plan aims to decongest crowded commercial areas by relocating large car outlets to a modern, purpose-built complex. The project will be developed on a 13,000-square-metre plot with a permitted Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 4, featuring showrooms, restaurants, retail outlets, and a multi-level parking facility to eliminate roadside parking.
Located strategically with wide roads on three sides, the site will offer smooth connectivity and improve traffic movement compared to existing car market zones. Currently, most automobile outlets are situated along Udyog Marg, one of Noida’s busiest roads, where roadside parking causes severe congestion during peak hours.
In 2024, the Authority had approved around Rs 500 million for remodelling and beautifying Udyog Marg. However, progress was delayed due to prolonged negotiations with affected businesses. The new automobile hub is expected to ease traffic, streamline retail operations, and revitalise the area’s commercial landscape.
Officials said the project requires relaxation of setback regulations, which stipulate minimum distances between structures and property lines to ensure safety and accessibility. The narrow plot shape limits usable construction space under current rules. Accordingly, the Authority has sought permission from the state government to relax these norms and has submitted control drawings detailing the proposed layout, building heights, and parking design.
Once approval is received, the Noida Authority will issue the final development plan and commence construction. Upon completion, the Sector 105 automobile hub is expected to organise the city’s auto retail sector, reduce congestion on Udyog Marg, and create a new commercial landmark along the expressway.
