NSDC-PDEU Centre of Excellence Launched in Gandhinagar

Union Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) jointly established by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The centre will offer over 40 online and hybrid courses in key sectors such as semiconductors, renewable and non-renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and digital technologies.

Speaking at the launch, Shri Chaudhary highlighted the importance of empowering universities to evolve into engines of innovation and national progress. “Universities are transformative bridges between academia and the real world,” he remarked. “By fostering critical thinking, innovation, and agility, they help produce graduates who are not only employable but visionary contributors to society.”

The centre will house advanced manufacturing labs and provide specialised training across disciplines, including VLSI design, embedded systems, energy technologies, and smart industry solutions. Courses will cater to students from ITI, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, with a focus on hands-on learning and practical exposure.

NSDC CEO Ved Mani Tiwari emphasised that the collaboration would bolster India’s skilling ecosystem and global competitiveness. “Our mission is to make India’s youth employable and future-ready. With global certification programmes and a strong focus on sectors like semiconductors, EVs, and renewable energy, this centre is a step towards that vision,” he said.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat, aiming to produce a generation of “Energy Ambassadors” prepared to lead India into a sustainable, innovation-driven future.
