Numaligarh Refinery Granted Navratna Status
Puri said the recognition reflects NRL’s strong performance and ambitious growth trajectory, citing both the ongoing refinery expansion under the NREP and the recently inaugurated ABEPL bamboo-based 2G bioethanol plant, which is advancing energy security and green growth in Assam and the Northeast.
The refinery, with a capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum, is located at Numaligarh in Assam’s Golaghat district. Oil India Ltd is the majority promoter, holding a 69.63 per cent stake, while the Assam Government owns 26 per cent and Engineers India holds 4.37 per cent.
For FY25, NRL reported an annual turnover of Rs 251.47 billion and net profit of Rs 16.08 billion.
