Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the Works Department’s new project monitoring dashboard at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday, aimed at real-time tracking and efficient execution of infrastructure projects in Odisha. The initiative is set to improve decision-making and project efficiency across the state.

Majhi highlighted that the previous monitoring system had significant limitations, with insufficient information flow causing delays in decisions and sluggish project progress. The new dashboard, equipped with advanced GIS technology, addresses these challenges by enabling comprehensive monitoring, offering up-to-date images of public assets, and providing detailed information on projects at the district and block levels.

The new system will also assist in identifying suitable locations for projects using satellite maps. It is designed to enhance financial transparency, streamline project management, and resolve issues such as land acquisition, forest land clearance, and encroachment, with an integrated issue tracker.

The dashboard will allow live project tracking, providing real-time progress updates, financial monitoring, and risk alerts, ensuring timely and efficient evaluation of projects. These features will support better decision-making, accelerating project delivery across Odisha.

Majhi further revealed that the dashboard will be expanded to other departments to strengthen infrastructure project management and speed up development. This initiative is aligned with the state's ambitious road infrastructure plan, as outlined in the Odisha State Road Policy-2025, which aims to build 75,000 km of world-class roads by 2029-30. Over Rs 600 billion has been allocated for infrastructure development in the 2025-26 budget, focusing on improving connectivity in both rural and urban areas.
