On 20 July, more than 6,500 runners took part in the 14th edition of the Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon (DRHM) in Chennai, reaffirming Hexaware’s dedication to fostering healthy lifestyles and contributing to community welfare.

Runners of all backgrounds—from first-timers to seasoned athletes—participated in 10 km and 21.1 km events. Months of structured training and health guidance were provided free of charge, making the event accessible and inclusive. The roads came alive with participants of all ages, including personnel from the defence, police, and civic services, truly embodying the spirit of “running for a cause.”

Flagged off by Tamil Nadu’s Health Minister Thiru Ma. Subramanian and Hexaware leaders Ravi Srinivasan (EVP & Global CIO), Krishna Balagurunathan (Chief Mentor & AVP – Early Careers), and Jayakrishnan Unnikrishnan (AVP – Marketing), the professionally timed, AIMS-certified event was marked by vibrant early morning celebrations and strong community support. Volunteer ploggers helped maintain a zero-waste route.

“Hexaware DRHM proves one morning can unite employees, customers, and complete strangers through shared effort,” said Nita Nambiar, Chief People Officer, Hexaware.

The event raised over Rs 45 million through entry fees and donations, which will support prosthetic-limb fittings, rehabilitation for survivors of domestic violence and acid attacks, and programmes for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.

“Every kilometre run today turns into real help for someone in need,” said Zainab Millwala Master, Race Director, Dream Runners. “With Hexaware’s continued support, DRHM has become a platform for wellness, inclusion, and impact.”

Hexaware’s Chief Marketing Officer, Nidhi Alexander, added, “DRHM 2025 reflects our passion for real change through health and unity. It celebrates our collective journey toward a stronger, more connected community.”

Planning for the 15th edition is already underway, with registrations expected to open in early 2026.
