Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND), through its IGNITION Open Innovation platform, has announced the second cycle of Co.lab Studio, a startup collaboration initiative focused on developing scalable digital services and solutions.
The new cycle will focus on Safety & Security and Daily Living solutions for communities by leveraging Panasonic’s AI and IoT-enabled connected living platform, MirAIe. The programme aims to help startups move from innovation concepts to pilot deployments, platform integrations and commercialisation-ready solutions.
The first cycle of Co.lab Studio received 173 applications from more than 20 countries and resulted in co-creation partnerships with Portl and Sensio (Orbyt) to integrate AI-powered wellness and wearable technologies into MirAIe.
Designed as a long-term open innovation capability, Co.lab Studio enables Panasonic to collaborate with selected startups beyond traditional accelerator models. The initiative focuses on identifying business challenges, executing pilots, validating solutions and preparing them for commercial deployment.
Through the second cycle, selected startups will work closely with Panasonic’s business, product and technology teams to develop MirAIe-aligned solutions. The programme will include startup selection, platform integration, pilot deployment with business units and validation against business-focused performance indicators.
Speaking on the initiative, Manish Misra, Chief Innovation Officer, Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND) and Head of India Innovation Centre, said that Co.lab Studio aims to make open innovation more outcome-driven by combining startup agility with Panasonic’s technology capabilities and scale.
At the centre of Cycle 2 is MirAIe, Panasonic’s connected living platform that enables startups to integrate their solutions into a wider AI and IoT ecosystem. The collaboration is expected to support faster enterprise validation, product refinement and development of integration-ready solutions.
The second cycle strengthens Co.lab Studio’s role within IGNITION as a scalable open innovation platform focused on creating measurable outcomes, including working pilots, validated use cases and solutions with commercial potential.
Panasonic has invited startups with relevant capabilities in Safety & Security and Daily Living solutions to participate in the second cycle of Co.lab Studio by IGNITION.
