Petronet LNG Signs Rs 12 Billion Deal With Deepak Fertilisers

Intro: Keywords:________________________________________ State-run Petronet LNG (PLL) has entered a 5.5-year agreement with Performance Chemiserve (PCL)—a subsidiary of Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (DFPCL)—to regasify imported LNG at its Dahej terminal, starting between May and July 2026. Under the contract, PLL will receive, store, and regasify 25.6 TBTUs of LNG annually post an initial ramp-up period in 2026. The gas will primarily be used in DFPCL's Taloja manufacturing units. The deal is expected to generate Rs 12 billion in revenue for PLL, with a potential 20 per cent upside over the contract term. This agreement expands PLL’s long-term business and boosts utilisation of its regasification capacity. The regasified LNG will support DFPCL’s ammonia and specialty chemical production, improving operational efficiency and cost competitiveness. This collaboration strengthens PLL’s role in India’s energy infrastructure and aligns with the government’s push to increase the share of natural gas in the national energy mix.
