Piyush Goyal launches ‘PM GatiShakti Public’ platform

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, recently launched the ‘PM GatiShakti Public’ platform through the Unified Geospatial Interface (UGI), marking a major step in democratising access to infrastructure and geospatial data. The launch coincided with the completion of four transformative years of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) during an event organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in New Delhi.

Developed by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) and powered by the National Geospatial Data Registry (NGDR), the new web platform provides regulated access to over 230 non-sensitive datasets from the PM GatiShakti NMP. It enables private entities, consultants, researchers, and citizens to perform site suitability analyses, connectivity mapping, alignment planning, compliance checks, and generate analytical reports.

Access to the platform is available through self-registration with strict authentication and data security measures. Future phases will introduce additional datasets and analytical tools based on user feedback.

Since its launch in 2021, PM GatiShakti has integrated data from more than 57 Central Ministries, Departments, and States/UTs, improving infrastructure planning, reducing logistics costs, and accelerating project implementation. The ‘PM GatiShakti Public’ platform extends these benefits to the wider public, promoting transparency, collaboration, and innovation in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.
