The Government has implemented Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) across 14 sectors to enhance domestic manufacturing, attract investment, promote exports and generate employment.

As on 31 December 2025 the schemes have attracted cumulative investments of over Rs 2.16 trillion (tn), generated cumulative production and sales of more than Rs 20.41 trillion and exports exceeding Rs 8.3 trillion, and created employment for more than 1.439 million (mn) persons across the 14 sectors.

Under the Electronics Sector (Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing and IT Hardware 2.0) about Rs 155.54 billion (bn) of incentives have been disbursed, while the Automobiles and Auto Components Sector has received about Rs 23.78 billion. The electronics disbursement relates to support under the revised programme and covers 59 participating companies, and the automobile figure covers 72 participating companies reporting incremental activity.

Companies in the electronics sector reported incremental production of about Rs 2.45 trillion up to December 2025, reflecting expanded domestic capacity, while the automobile and auto components sector reported incremental production of about Rs 131.26 billion in the same period. Together these increases underpin efforts to reduce import dependence and strengthen supply chain resilience.

Overall the PLI schemes have attracted investments of over Rs 2.16 trillion and generated incremental production worth about Rs 4.21 trillion in the financial year up to December 2025, contributing to cumulative production and sales across sectors. The performance to date is presented as part of a broader strategy to deepen manufacturing ecosystems and improve export competitiveness.

In addition to the PLI Scheme the Government has advanced initiatives such as the Semicon India Programme, the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme, SPECS, EMC and M-SIPS, and the Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnets, along with PM Gati Shakti, the National Logistics Policy and the National Critical Mineral Mission to secure critical supplies. The ministry provided this information in Rajya Sabha during an update on implementation progress.
