PM Modi Engages Youth at Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the concluding session of the second edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking the culmination of the four-day event on National Youth Day. The programme coincided with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and witnessed enthusiastic participation from young leaders across the country.

Interacting with the youth, the Prime Minister said that many participants were not yet born when he first took oath as Chief Minister, and were still children when he assumed office as Prime Minister in 2014. Despite the passage of time, he said, his faith in the younger generation has remained unwavering. “Your capability, your talent—I have always drawn energy from your energy. Today, you are holding the reins of the goal of a developed India,” Modi remarked.

The Prime Minister underlined that the period leading up to 2047, when India will complete 100 years of Independence, is a decisive phase for both the nation and its youth. He said the strength and success of young Indians will determine the country’s future and elevate India to new global heights. Congratulating the participants, he stressed that youth leadership will play a defining role in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Referring to National Youth Day, Modi said that January 12 is celebrated every year in memory of Swami Vivekananda, whose life and ideals continue to inspire generations. He noted that the date was deliberately chosen for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, as Swami Vivekananda’s vision serves as a guiding light for India’s youth.

Expressing satisfaction over the rapid growth of the initiative, the Prime Minister described VBYLD as a powerful platform for direct youth participation in nation-building. He highlighted the unprecedented scale of engagement, noting over five million registrations and more than three million young people participating in the Viksit Bharat Challenge and contributing ideas for India’s development.
