PM Modi Reviews $8.0 Billion Projects in 49th PRAGATI Meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 49th PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting at South Block on Wednesday, reviewing eight key infrastructure projects across 15 States and Union Territories with a combined investment exceeding $8.0 billion.
The projects span critical sectors including Mines, Railways, Water Resources, Industrial Corridors, and Power, and are considered vital for economic growth and public welfare. The Prime Minister instructed officials to ensure strict adherence to timelines, enhance inter-agency coordination, and promptly address implementation challenges.
PM Modi emphasised that delays not only result in cost overruns but also prevent citizens from accessing essential infrastructure and services on time. He urged Central and State authorities to adopt a results-oriented approach, converting these projects into tangible benefits for the public, while promoting ease of living and ease of doing business.
The Prime Minister also called on States and Union Territories to implement robust mechanisms for regular monitoring and review of flagship projects, alongside pursuing reforms that enhance competitiveness, efficiency, and innovation.
PRAGATI, an ICT-enabled multi-modal platform, bridges the Centre and States to accelerate major projects and ensure their timely completion.
