Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 12.19 billion in Kevadia on the eve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. The projects include the Birsa Munda Bhavan—an iconic centre dedicated to Bhagwan Birsa Munda—a residential complex for GSEC and SSNNL employees, the first phase of the hospitality district, and a Bonsai Garden.

During the visit, the Prime Minister also flagged off a fleet of electric buses in Kevadia, an initiative aimed at providing comfortable and sustainable transport facilities for visitors to the region.

Marking the 150th Jayanti celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Modi released a special commemorative coin and postage stamp in honour of the Iron Man of India. He also met members of Sardar Patel’s family, expressing his delight in interacting with them and recalling Patel’s monumental contribution to national unity and integration.

The Prime Minister attended a cultural programme depicting Sardar Patel’s inspiring life and legacy. The event showcased his active role in India’s freedom struggle, his leadership in uniting the nation, and his pivotal role in addressing post-independence challenges.

Sharing details on X, Shri Modi said, “A boost to Kevadia’s infrastructure! Development works worth Rs 12.19 billion have been inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid this evening.” He highlighted the Birsa Munda Bhavan, residential complex for GSEC and SSNNL employees, the first phase of the hospitality district, and the Bonsai Garden among the key initiatives.

He also wrote, “On the eve of Sardar Patel’s 150th Jayanti, reached Kevadia to attend various programmes. The first was to flag off electric buses ensuring sustainable transport for visitors.” Another post noted the release of a special coin and stamp, while others reflected on his interaction with Patel’s family and the cultural programme showcasing the Iron Man’s enduring legacy.
