PM to Inaugurate 103 Amrit Stations Including Five in Karnataka

The Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate 103 Amrit Stations through video conference on 22 May 2025 at Bikaner, Rajasthan. Among these, five railway stations in Karnataka—Munirabad, Bagalkot, Gadag, Gokak Road, and Dharwad—will be launched.

These stations, spread across 86 districts in 18 States and Union Territories, have been developed at a cost exceeding Rs 11 billion under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Over 1,300 stations are being upgraded nationwide with modern facilities reflecting regional architecture and enhanced passenger amenities.

Gadag Railway Station redevelopment cost Rs 232.4 million and features a modern building, improved platforms, a 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, lifts, escalators, and amenities for Divyangjan. Dharwad Station, upgraded for Rs 171 million, now has a new second entry, foot overbridge, lifts, escalators, and improved passenger facilities.

Bagalkot Station redevelopment at Rs 160.6 million includes new buildings, waiting rooms, lifts, and foot overbridge. Munirabad Station, costing Rs 184 million, offers upgraded platforms, lifts, waiting halls, and advanced information systems. Gokak Road Station, developed for Rs 169.8 million, features a new building, foot overbridge, lifts, modern signage, and digital systems.

These stations connect key cities and play a vital role in enhancing regional connectivity, tourism, and economic growth in northern Karnataka.
