Premier Energies has commissioned a five point six gigawatt (GW) solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, with trial production under way. The plant is spread across 75 acres and is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs, supporting the local economy and domestic manufacturing. The new capacity brings advanced automation and high efficiency production lines to the region. The commissioning marks a key step in the company's expansion.

With this addition, the company's total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, reinforcing its position among India's largest solar manufacturers. The facility features assembly lines capable of producing four G12R TOPCon modules every 16 seconds and integrates artificial intelligence powered fault detection to address defects in real time. The combination of TOPCon technology and Zero Busbar architecture is said to enable higher energy yield and improved durability for domestic and international markets.

Executives indicated the plant represents a milestone in building an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem and supports the company's roadmap to scale manufacturing across the value chain from ingots to modules. The facility is intended to enhance supply chain resilience and align with India's renewable energy ambitions. The company also plans to expand into wafers, inverters, transformers and battery systems.

Premier Energies is undertaking a Rs 125 billion (bn) capital expenditure programme over three years to more than double capacity. It reported a 53.44 per cent year on year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3.916 billion (bn) in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, from Rs 2.552 billion (bn) a year earlier, while revenue rose 13.02 per cent to Rs 19.365 billion (bn) for the quarter ended 31 December 2025. The company has a three decade track record and expects the new plant to help meet growing demand for high efficiency solar solutions.
