Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Maharashtra to lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation development projects worth Rs 350 billion (Rs 350 bn) in Vadodara and adjoining areas. He will dedicate three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) covering 326 route kilometres that were developed at a cost of Rs 207 billion (Rs 207 bn). The sections are Sanand (N)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). The new direct connectivity to JNPA is expected to facilitate faster movement of EXIM cargo and reduce logistics costs.

With the commissioning of these sections, the Dedicated Freight Corridor network will become fully operational across its entire length, strengthening multimodal connectivity and reducing transit time for freight. The Prime Minister will flag off freight train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT in Mumbai and will also flag off a new train between Vadodara and Tanda Road to benefit people in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Alirajpur districts. He will dedicate the Jobat-Tanda Road new rail line, part of the Chhota Udepur-Dhar project, to connect remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur with the national rail network.

He will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects spanning 329 kilometres and costing Rs 97 billion (Rs 97 bn), including the Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth lines, the Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge conversion and the Vishwamitri-Dabhoi doubling project. These projects aim to enhance passenger and freight capacity, ease congestion and strengthen connectivity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for three National Highway projects costing around Rs 17.8 billion (Rs 17.8 bn), covering six-laning of the Kamrej-Chalthan section of NH-48, additional structures and major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada and grade-separated junctions on NH-53.

He will inaugurate six-lane flyovers and launch Gujarat projects worth around Rs 26 billion (Rs 26 bn). In Mumbai he will inaugurate Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 from September eight to 11 and open the event at five forty five pm.
