Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday flagged off a new fleet of Rajasthan Roadways buses from Amar Jawan Jyoti, marking a significant step towards modernising the state’s public transport network. The Chief Minister inaugurated 128 Blue Line buses and seven rural buses, designed to enhance connectivity and improve travel comfort across the state.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Premchand Bairwa and Member of Parliament Manju Sharma. The new fleet complies with the latest emission standards and incorporates modern technology to ensure efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The 128 Blue Line buses have been distributed depot-wise throughout Rajasthan, while the rural service, named ‘Aapni Bus – Rajasthan Roadways’, will provide crucial transport links to remote villages and underserved rural areas.
In a bid to enhance the passenger experience, the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has also introduced catering facilities on Volvo, Scania, and Deluxe AC buses. Passengers will receive meals and beverages at their seats during morning, afternoon, and evening journeys — a feature modelled on airline and train services.
Chief Minister Sharma said the new fleet reflects the government’s commitment to building a safe, reliable, and modern public transport system. “These new buses, equipped with advanced features, will make long-distance journeys safer and more comfortable. Our goal is to improve transport services in urban and semi-urban areas while connecting villages to cities for greater mobility,” he said.
Transport Minister Dr Premchand Bairwa added that the focus remains on passenger safety and convenience. He noted that the government aims to make Rajasthan’s public transport modern, dependable, and environmentally responsible.
In the past month alone, the RSRTC has inducted 300 new buses, underscoring the state’s ongoing efforts to expand capacity and reduce congestion. The initiative will also create new employment opportunities and encourage a shift from private vehicles to public transport, reducing pollution and easing road traffic.
With this rollout, Rajasthan Roadways continues to reinforce its position as a leader in sustainable and passenger-focused transport, providing citizens with a safer, more comfortable, and eco-friendly travel experience.
