Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the SSB headquarters in Delhi to affiliate and accredit specialised security courses. The formal ceremony was attended by senior representatives of the university and the force, including Prof. (Dr.) Kalpesh H. Wandra, Pro-Vice Chancellor of RRU, Mr Avinash Kharel, Dean of Affiliation and Accreditation at RRU, and Shri Sanjay Singhal, Director General of the SSB. The agreement aims to formalise collaboration on training and education for border guarding personnel.

Under the partnership RRU will provide academic accreditation for a range of training programmes conducted at the SSB Academy and its training establishments. Both institutions have committed to the exchange of faculty expertise, pedagogical tools and specialised training facilities to bridge academic research and on-ground operational requirements. The collaboration seeks to create a sustained ecosystem for professional development within the SSB.

RRU will deliver hands-on training through state-of-the-art laboratories and field-based workshops and has already conducted a specialised Smart Border Management course for SSB officials. The initiative will modernise curriculum content with an emphasis on technology-driven solutions for border surveillance and internal security challenges. A robust evaluation process and standardised grading mechanism will be developed for accredited courses to maintain academic rigour. The partnership includes periodic vetting and validation of course content to ensure responsiveness to evolving security threats.

The implementation framework covers course assessment to map training hours to academic credits and collaborative curriculum enhancement to meet additional credit requirements for degree and diploma pathways. Pursuant to the MoU RRU may accredit existing and future courses leading to a certificate, diploma, postgraduate diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor's degree or master's degree in accordance with joint accreditation guidelines. A dedicated RRU Desk will be established at the SSB Academy to manage data and streamline coordination for accreditation and certification processes. The arrangement aligns with the Integrated Training vision of the Ministry of Home Affairs and with the National Credit Framework to support career progression and academic recognition for SSB personnel.
