REC Pledges Rs 200 Mn CSR Aid for Children of Martyrs, War Widows

REC, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading Non-Banking Financial Company, has contributed Rs 200 million through its CSR arm, REC Foundation, to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF). The grant will support the education of 16,667 children of ex-servicemen, martyrs, and war widows from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The contribution was formalised through a Memorandum of Agreement signed between Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director (CSR), REC, and Brigadier D.S. Basera, Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, in New Delhi.

In the past two financial years, REC Foundation has extended Rs 300 million in support to the AFFDF. This initiative reiterates REC’s long-standing commitment to nation-building and social equity through meaningful CSR initiatives.
