REC Wins Multiple Honours at PSU Transformation Awards 2025

REC, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has secured top honours at the 5th PSU Transformation Awards 2025, winning awards across four key categories. The recognitions highlight the company’s sustained focus on operational resilience, sustainability, governance excellence and digital transformation.
In the Resilience in Action category, REC received the Silver Award for Cyber Defense & Resilience. The award was accepted by K Venugopal, Senior General Manager (IT) and Head of Department – CISO, along with the CISO team, in recognition of the organisation’s strengthened cyber security framework and preparedness to address emerging digital threats.
REC also earned the Gold Award under the Green PSU Award category for ESG Leadership & Net-Zero Operations. The honour was received by Awanish Kumar Bharati, General Manager (Finance), and Neha Sharma, Deputy General Manager (Finance). The award underscores REC’s leadership in environmental, social and governance practices, as well as its ongoing initiatives towards achieving net-zero operational goals.
The organisation’s enterprise risk management framework was recognised with the Risk Management Leader Award for ISO 31000 for Risk Management – Guidelines. The award was accepted by Jeetender Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Finance), and Hitesh Kumar Meena, Deputy Manager, acknowledging the successful implementation of globally aligned risk management practices across REC’s operations.
Further reinforcing its digital transformation journey, REC won the Rising Star Award for REC Limited Official Website Transformation: A Digital Gateway to a New Corporate Identity. The award was received by Ujjal Mondal, Assistant Manager (BDM), recognising the creation of a modern, user-centric digital platform.
These multiple accolades at the 5th PSU Transformation Awards 2025 reaffirm REC Limited’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, robust governance and digital advancement in support of India’s power and infrastructure development objectives.
