Reliance Consumer Products Acquires Majority Stake In Goodness Group
RCPL will leverage its supply chain and distribution capabilities to expand availability of the acquired brands and to support GGG's ambition of reaching up to 50 western markets over the next five years. The company has already forayed into markets such as the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Nepal and Sri Lanka and maintains a portfolio of healthy beverages that includes RasKik and Sun Crush juices, zero-sugar carbonated soft drinks and the herbal-natural brand Shunya. The partnership further cements RCPL's position as an emerging global FMCG player from India and is intended to create greater accessibility of Better-For-You products.
Goodness Group Global is headquartered in Sydney and is known for its focus on Better-For-You products, with Nexba positioned as a gut-health beverage made using a proprietary all-natural, plant-based zero-calorie sweetener called Goodsweet. GGG's other offerings include BISON, a light protein-based beverage, and GOOD BREKKIE, a liquid breakfast option, while PACE is described as a hydration brand co-created with Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins. The acquisition is expected to strengthen RCPL's health-focused offerings and to accelerate international distribution of GGG brands.
Company representatives indicated that the partnership will provide opportunities for scale, innovation and market expansion while combining RCPL's distribution strength with GGG's product innovation. RCPL's backing by RIL is expected to provide infrastructural support and resources as the combined businesses pursue growth across multiple markets.
