RentoMojo Raises Rs 3,761 Million From Anchor Investors Ahead Of IPO
16 domestic mutual funds were allotted six point zero four mn shares through 30 schemes, worth about Rs 2,441 mn and representing 32.68 per cent of the anchor allocation. Five life insurance companies received one point two six mn shares and the filing stated the insurance allocation was valued at Rs five point one mn. Named anchors included Kotak Mahindra Trustee, Edelweiss, Invesco, HDFC, Motilal Oswal, Bajaj Finserv, JM Financial and ICICI Prudential.
The public issue comprises a fresh issue of shares worth up to Rs 1,500 mn and an offer for sale of up to 27 mn shares, with the IPO price band fixed at Rs 384 to Rs 404 per share. At the upper end the company is valued at about Rs 42,060 mn, or about USD 445.1 million (mn). RentoMojo filed its draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India and received approval in July. Proceeds from the fresh issue are planned to repay or prepay borrowings, pay rental fees for offline stores and meet general corporate expenses.
Founded in 2014 by Geetansh Bamania and Ajay Nain, RentoMojo offers subscription rentals of furniture and appliances and operates 20 warehouses and 82 offline stores across 29 cities. As of March 2026 it had a portfolio of zero point eight five mn products and served zero point two five mn active users. The company reported a restated profit after tax of Rs 1,042 mn in FY26, up nearly 142 per cent year-on-year aided by a tax credit of Rs 366 mn, while operating revenue rose 45.5 per cent to Rs 3,870 mn from Rs 2,660 mn in the prior year.
