Rs 11.47 Billion Works To Be Launched in Maddur on 28 July

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will launch development projects worth Rs 11.47 billion in Maddur taluk on Monday, 28 July. The event will see the inauguration and foundation stone laying of 87 projects across 16 departments, according to Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumar.
The venue’s entrance has been designed to resemble the iconic Shivapura Satyagraha Soudha, symbolising the region’s historic legacy. Government departments such as Agriculture and Horticulture will also set up exhibition stalls to raise awareness about state welfare schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Mandya district in-charge Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy, and local MLA M.K. Uday are among those expected to attend. Uday highlighted that the projects focus on irrigation, roadworks, drainage, and drinking water—key areas for the welfare of farmers and rural communities.
Out of the Rs 11.47 billion allocated, 60 projects will have their foundation stones laid, while 27 will be inaugurated.
To ensure broad public participation, around 500 buses have been arranged to bring attendees from various areas.
Mandya Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi said that 1,000 police personnel will be deployed for security, with ample parking arranged for incoming vehicles.
As part of the event, 14 identity documents will be distributed to 85 formerly bonded labourers under the 'Nanna Guruthu' initiative. Additionally, financial aid will be granted to two beneficiaries under the Sarathi scheme, which supports unemployed youth in purchasing vehicles such as taxis, goods carriers, and auto rickshaws.
